Taiwan‘s Transformation and AFC’s Evolution in Sustainable Technical Textiles

Taiwan, known as the ‘tech island’ nowadays, was once notorious for garbage clutters floating in the surrounding seas. Through the efforts of its concerned citizens, the government took serious action on this crisis and published the 1988 Waste Disposal Act, kick-starting an entire waste transformation on the island by regulating the responsibility of manufacturers and importers via Extended Producer Responsibility (). While the entire nation underwent this bottom-up evolution, AFC also stepped up to transform our productions, defining our strength with reusable technical textile. Thirty years on, we continue to improve our reusable cleanroom fabrics made from top-quality recycled yarns. It’s important to acknowledge that we wouldn’t have achieved this without the individual efforts of Taiwanese citizens. At the end of the day, “we” are not just a private corporation but an enterprise of environmentally concerned human beings.
